About
Carolina Pizzutto is a Research Engineer at the Energy Resources Center (ERC) at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC), an interdisciplinary organization within the College of Engineering dedicated to advancing energy sustainability and environmental improvements. Carolina supports the the U.S. Department of Energy’s Onsite Energy Technical Assistance Partnership (TAP), providing technical support to industrial and commercial end-users evaluating onsite energy solutions, including combined heat and power CHP, renewable technologies, and battery energy storage systems. She also contributes to the Nicor Gas Energy Efficiency Combined Heat and Power Feasibility Study Program, conducting techno-economic analyses, energy modeling, and feasibility studies to identify opportunities for energy efficiency and decarbonization. In addition, Carolina supports research and technical assistance activities related to carbon accounting, life cycle assessment (LCA), voluntary carbon markets, and renewable energy strategies. Carolina holds a Master of Energy Engineering from UIC and brings prior experience in the gas turbine industry, where she led product validation programs and continuous improvement initiatives.
